Temple

On July 28th Brian and I went through the temple for the first time. So grateful for my family and friends that came to support us!

Brian Head

The week that we had to put Karl down was so hard for us. It was getting close to the date that we planned to go through the temple for our first time, and we had so much opposition thrown our way. We just wanted to escape from it all. Our friends Nathan and Nicole invited us to go to their cabin in Brian Head, we were so excited to go spend time with them and get out Las Vegas for a weekend. We haven't been friends for very long, but it feels like Nicole and I have been best friends for years. Maybe we were best friends in Heaven! She has helped me through so much these past few months, more than she could ever know. I love her and her family, she is so amazing and I am so lucky and grateful that she is my friend! Anyways, our trip to the cabin with them was so fun! We left Friday night after Brian and Nathan got off work. It took us what seemed like 6 hours to get there. With 3 kids and 2 dogs we had to stop only 72 times.

Saturday morning while eating breakfast someone noticed that there was a bee hive right outside the patio door. The boys got creative and used a fire extinguisher and a water hose to get rid of the hive. The kids loved watching their daddies!

After the bee hive was taken care of we played outside for a bit then went to an overlook spot. It was so pretty and even a little cold. I was excited to wear a sweater!

After we got home and had lunch I got take a shower in their big steam shower. It was amazing! Everybody should have one of those! While I was doing that Brian and Nathan took Kambree and Jackson on the 4 wheelers.

Nicole made a delish pot roast for dinner. We made smores and stayed up super late talking. After we went to bed Kambree woke up in the night and started throwing up. Ugh! While Brian and I were cleaning everything up he got sick and he started throwing up. So all through the rest of the night they were both throwing up. No fun! The next morning which was Sunday, we packed everything up and cleaned the cabin then we left to go home. We stopped in Cedar City for some lunch and as we were getting gas Kambree started throwing up again. It was awful! We got back on the road and after we got into Vegas Brian got pulled over on the 215 and like North 5th. UGH! He gave us a ticket for going 72 in a 55 speed zone. Once we drove away I sent a text to Nicole to warn her of the cop and she text me back and said that they just handed their papers over to the cop. They got pulled over by the same guy going the same speed. They also got a ticket! So our opposition followed us on the trip. It was still so fun, we just love spending time with the Dee's!

Karl John Nickle

On July 10th we had to put our family dog down. Sam was 11 years old when she got him, he was the only boy out of his litter. She named him after Karl Malone and gave him a full name which was Karl John Nickle. Weird... I know! He has always been her dog but when she moved in with us in St. George he came with her and when she went on her mission he stayed with us and has been with us ever since. He became my little buddy. No matter how many times I had to wake up in the night with babies he always followed me and would sit right at my feet. It didn't matter how much he was in pain toward the end he would follow me everywhere. It was one of the toughest decisions that we have ever had to make. We are dog people and they become apart of our family. Kambree has had a tough time understanding at first, she still prays for him in every prayer. We miss Karl so much. I am so glad he is no longer in pain.

July 4th

Finally blogging about July 4th. I guess I am just a little behind. We stayed here in Vegas again for the 4th. I was a little sad that this was the 2nd year in a row that we weren't going to be in Provo, but we had so much fun! We started the day out with the Summerlin parade. The kids of coarse loved it and it wasn't too hot.

After the parade we went to go spend some time with my best friend Nicole and her family and friends. They had a yummy BBQ and they were planning to swim but it ended up raining! We ate, played games, talked, and laughed and when the weather cleared up we did some fireworks for the kids. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures at Nicole's :(

We left Nicole's parents and drove back up to Providence. Knickerbocker Park was having a huge celebration so we walked over. It was so fun! We saw friends from our ward. The kids just played and played waiting for the fireworks to start. The fireworks were awesome! For the life of me I couldn't get a good picture of the kids at the park. They were so busy they could not hold still and smile for more than a second. The kids had so much fun! This was the 1st year Kambree wasn't scared of the fireworks. After the fireworks Kambree said "Mom I'm not scared of big fireworks anymore!". Thank goodness! It was such a fun day! It is still my favorite Holiday even if we can't spend it in Utah every year!

Photos

Kambree has discovered my camera and has taken a ton of pictures lately. Here is some of her work... I have no idea what that bumpy looking thing is. Football maybe? Santa might have to bring Kambree her very own camera for Christmas.
